Learn how to set up Jira as a notification endpoint to automatically create issues from cside security alerts.

Availability

Jira notification endpoints are included on the Enterprise plan and available as an add-on for Business plans. Contact sales to get started.

Overview

Connect cside to your Jira instance to automatically create issues when security alerts are triggered. Each alert creates a Jira issue in the project and issue type you configure, giving your team full visibility within their existing workflow.

Prerequisites

Before setting up a Jira notification endpoint, you need to connect your Jira account as a team integration:

  1. Open the dashboard and navigate to your Team Settings
  2. Select the Integrations tab
  3. Click Connect next to Jira and follow the OAuth authorization flow
  4. Once authorized, you can set up Jira notification endpoints on any domain in the team

Setting up a Jira Notification Endpoint

  1. Open the dashboard, navigate to your Domain Settings and select the Notifications tab
  2. Click Add under Notification Endpoints
  3. Select Jira from the options
  4. Click Next to proceed to the configuration screen
  5. In the Configure Jira Endpoint modal, fill in the required fields:
    • Project: Select the Jira project where issues should be created
    • Issue Type: Select the issue type (e.g., Bug, Task, Epic)
  6. Click Create Jira Endpoint to complete the setup

Once created, cside will automatically create a Jira issue in your selected project whenever a security alert is triggered for this domain.

What does a Jira issue look like?

Each Jira issue created by cside includes:

  • Summary: cside Security Alert: {alert type} on {domain}
  • Description with the following details:
    • The affected domain
    • The alert type
    • The target (script URL or hash that triggered the alert)
    • The action taken

If you configured a priority or labels when creating the endpoint, those will also be applied to each issue.

Testing

After creating a Jira endpoint, you’ll be prompted to Send a Test Notification directly from the setup flow. This creates a test issue in your Jira project so you can verify the integration is working immediately.

You can also send a test notification at any time from the Notifications tab in your domain settings.

Next steps

  • Add more notification endpoints - you can configure multiple endpoints per domain (e.g., Jira + Slack webhook) from the Notifications tab in your domain settings
  • Connect other integrations - visit Team Settings > Integrations to connect Linear or other services
  • Configure additional domains - each domain can have its own set of notification endpoints, so repeat the setup for any other domains you want to monitor

Removing a Jira Endpoint

To remove a Jira notification endpoint:

  1. Navigate to your Domain Settings and select the Notifications tab
  2. Find the Jira endpoint in the list
  3. Click the delete button next to the endpoint
